Location & Facility

Common Street Arts is located at 16 Common Street in the heart of downtown Waterville, Maine. We occupy two storefronts of the historic Masonic block and are thrilled to be in the neighborhood with fantastic organizations such as Hardy Girls, Healthy Women, the Waterville Opera House and Barrels Community Market. Our doors open toward the beautiful Castonguay Square where many downtown festivities and community activities take place throughout the year.

The left-hand window is our 1350-square-foot gallery and event space. The ten-foot-high walls provide plentiful space for hanging exhibitions. A smaller space in the back of the main gallery currently serves as an auxiliary exhibition and event space and will eventually become the administrative home for CSA’s up-and-coming parent organization: the Waterville Arts Collaborative.

The right-hand window is home to CSA’s 800-square-foot studio where community members of all ages and abilities are welcomed to take classes in a variety of mediums. We have six pottery wheels and a digital kiln as well as a full array of art supplies. The studio has four folding tables and dozens of chairs, a utility sink and a bathroom. Studio walls are also available for additional exhibition space as well as hanging student creations.
